LEt Dr Rebecca English, Put your Mind At Ease.

School refusers are the highest growth group in homeschooling. Join Dr Rebecca English as she unpacks the research on school can’t (refusal), the impact on families and the ways that homeschooling families are able to manage their children’s schooling needs.

Drawn from research, both in the literature and Dr Rebecca English’s own research in the area, find out how parents are managing their homeschooling journeys after their child says they can’t go to school.

Dr Rebecca English

Dr. Rebecca English is a researcher, teacher and mother whose work is concerned with parenting and education.  Her work explores questions of how parenting practices and beliefs are enacted in families and how these practices and beliefs lead to parents making certain choices for their children.

Her particular interest is in the choice of non-mainstream education and how these choices affect children’s experience of agency and autonomy. Rebecca asks questions about how families enact power and agency in their lived experiences and choices around education, health and parenting.

She is the editor of several books and a co-author of a recent publication, The Superwoman Myth: Can Contemporary Women Have It All Now? Rebecca continues to publish widely in academic and popular press.
